Sir Michael Bibby Bt DL was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside in 2013. He is the Managing Director of Bibby Line Group Limited.\u00a0<\/p>

Bibby Line Group is a diverse and forward-looking family business delivering personal, responsive and flexible customer solutions for over 200 years. The Group is a \u00a31.4 billion business, operating in more than 20 countries, employing over 4,500 people in industries including retail, offshore, financial services, distribution, shipping, marine based businesses, plant hire and woodland burials.<\/p>

Upon graduating from Oxford University in 1984, Sir Michael joined Coopers & Lybrand in London where he later qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then spent several years at Unilever as a project accountant where he was involved in a number of acquisitions, disposals and joint venture projects before taking up the position of Finance Director of Bibby Line Limited in 1992, culminating in being appointed Managing Director of Bibby Line Limited. In January 2000, Sir Michael was appointed Managing Director of Bibby Line Group Limited.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In addition to holding the post of Managing Director of Bibby Line Group, Sir Michael is engaged in a number of external appointments which include Director of Mersey Maritime (Limited), the not-for-profit representative body for the regions maritime and related industries, since its formation in 2003.\u00a0 He is also Vice President of the Supervisory Board of the Chamber of Shipping; Chairman of the Institute of Family Business Research Foundation; Member of The Princes Trust North West Development Committee; Member of the Advisory Committee to the Mayor of Liverpool; Advisory Council Member of the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership.\u00a0

Sir Michael is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Liverpool in July 2012.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
