Lady Marina Dalglish

Lady Marina Dalglish was born in Glasgow and is the founder of the Marina Dalglish Appeal, which aims to make a difference to Cancer Care on Merseyside. After her recovery from breast cancer, Marina raised more than £10 million for various appeals, including the Marina Dalglish Centre for Oncology at Aintree University Hospital, the Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology at Aintree University Hospital, and the Southport Centre for Oncology. As well as helping with the day to day running of the Marina Dalglish Appeal, Marina also spends her time volunteering at one of the newest Cancer Centres, Larks, a Breast Cancer Support Centre in Liverpool.

Marina is married to Sir Kenny Dalglish and has four children, Kelly, Paul, Lynsey and Lauren. She has six grandchildren, Gabriella, Camilla, Rocco, Coco, Taylor and Archer.

She was appointed to the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire as a Member in 2009.  In 2015 Marina received the Citizen of Honour Award for services to charity by Liverpool City Council and received an Honorary Doctor of Law, from the University of Liverpool.  in 2015 Marina was given the Freedom of the City of Liverpool for services to Charity. Marina Dalglish was commissioned as a Deputy Lieutenant in April 2019.​
